Mariah Duck, Gestational Carrier, Case Manager at Family Choice, and National Surrogate Alliance Founding Member
A doula and gestational carrier, Mariah Duck now supports intended parents and surrogates as a case manager at Family Choice Surrogacy.
“I enjoyed holding my belly buddy after birth just to say, ‘See you later,’” Mariah Duck shared.
Mariah Duck first came to surrogacy through a deep passion for birth and supporting women during pregnancy. With a background as a birth and postpartum doula, she had already spent years helping families navigate some of the most meaningful and vulnerable moments of their lives.
When she became a gestational carrier herself, the experience added a new dimension to that work. Mariah carried a baby for another family while balancing life as a wife, a mother of two, and a military spouse. The journey involved IVF, months of careful medical coordination, and building a relationship of trust with the intended mother she had matched with.
What began as a single surrogacy journey ultimately shaped the direction of her career. Today, Mariah works as a case manager at Family Choice Surrogacy, where she supports intended parents and gestational carriers as they navigate the same process she once experienced herself.
Her story reflects something many in the surrogacy community come to understand firsthand: that helping another family welcome a child can become part of your own life’s work.
