Shadina Blunt, Cancer Survivor, 3x Gestational Carrier, and Founder of Surrogacy Miracles & Consulting
A cancer survivor and three-time gestational carrier, Shadina Blunt founded Surrogacy Miracles & Consulting to support families and expand awareness.
For Shadina, surrogacy was never something she viewed from a distance. It was something she lived, deeply and personally.
After building a career in OB-GYN care, she felt called to step into the journey herself. In 2017, she completed her first surrogacy journey, helping first-time parents welcome their child into the world. That experience gave her more than insight, it gave her a profound understanding of the emotional, medical, and logistical layers that shape every surrogacy journey.
But Shadina’s story holds even more depth.
As a cancer survivor, she carries a unique perspective on what it means to fight for life, to hold onto hope, and to be part of something bigger than yourself. That lived experience has shaped the way she shows up for others, with empathy, strength, and a deep sense of purpose.
Her second journey brought unexpected visibility. Shadina served as the gestational carrier for television personality Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker, opening the door for her to share more publicly about surrogacy and the importance of expanding awareness, especially within the Black community where these conversations are often limited or misunderstood.
In 2019, she founded Surrogacy Miracles & Consulting, a Black-owned, women-led agency based in Atlanta dedicated to helping intended parents and gestational carriers navigate the surrogacy journey with greater clarity and support.
Through her work, Shadina focuses on education, advocacy, and community-building. She works closely with families and professionals to ensure that every journey is met with respect, transparency, and support.
Her advocacy extends even further. In 2021, she released a children’s book, Miracles to Motherhood, helping young readers understand surrogacy while also creating representation for families within the Black community.
Shadina’s story is a powerful reminder that some of the strongest voices in this space are those who have lived it fully, who have faced life’s hardest moments, and still choose to show up for others.
